Nonfiction of the Week for August 3: The Skateboarding Field Manual

Book coverNonfiction Book for August 3: The Skateboarding Field Manual by Ryan Stutt

I think this is a good manual, but I’m not speaking from experience.  The closest I’ve ever come to skateboarding was when I was 4 yrs old I found my cousin’s skateboard and used it to propel myself down his sloping driveway, ending up on the other side of the street.

Fortunately for me there was no oncoming traffic or trees in my path!  But if I was interested in skateboarding this seems like the most logical place to start.  The book is very good at giving instruction along with some photographs to guide you through some tricks.   Even if you don’t own a skateboard but are fascinated by the sport it’s worth your while to check out this book.  I know I enjoyed looking at the photos.

OMG no one even posted here yet. aww this pore article was forgotten. well don't worry i'm here

lol funny, but ya this does look like a good manuel for those who are interested in skating or just have a thing for it

It's always good to learn a bit more in skateboarding even the pros have to go back to their manuel books once in awhile i bet you

Wow this place is deserted. Awesome lol

But no sereously this manuel looks fantastic, i wonder if they have a manuel for life

Now wouldn't that be intresting.

Ahh i'm going to miss having this article to myself. well might as well make the best of it. But i wanna ask is this maunel for beginners or experts or both

I've always had a special intrest in all transportation methods that i could do on my own. My favorite so far is the electric bike

Oops my bad i thought this was an old article, drat oh well. Good i'm glad it has pics it's always nice to see people airborne and pciturig yourself there. expecially if you can't do it yourself when you don't have the right materials

Heyy all these posts are by the same person. lol is anyone else gonna read this book? Anyway it sounds like it would be interesting and fun!

The Skateboarding Field Manual sounds like a guide which it is :) although i am not into skateboarding, I've tried it and it seemed really changeling and sometimes on t.v, i see people skate-boarding doing tricks and other stuff and I'm just like how the heck do they do that and i guess it comes for experience. But i am really interested and would like to try and learn a few tricks :). Pat wrote down "Even if you don’t own a skateboard but are fascinated by the sport it’s worth your while to check out this book." But my brother is interested into skateboarding LOL so maybe i can get him this book and see what he says and just maybe he might turn into a pro and i'll read the book after him! Hey just a quick question i asked this earlier but no one responded. So this question is for the staff in Word Out! 2009: Where do i go if i know what the secret book title is ? Thanks Happy Reading :)

this book sounds cool.... especially for ppl who like skateboarding!

Wow my school is FULL of skateboarders they would love this!

Does skateboarding experience help you to snowboard, or does snowboarding experience help to skateboard?? I don't know either of them, but I'd love to learn(both)! Someday, when I'm not to scared..lol. Maybe I'll sign-out this manual for encouragment/information and get over my nerves in the process.

Finally some other posts lol

I guess more people have to read this manual :o

I've always wanted to skateboard but never really got the chance.

Cool book though

Very intresting i would love to put a hold on it

And hopefully i get a skateboard

Ha ha, I would love to just get a skateboard and try out tricks as I read through it at the same time!

How much does a skateboard cost, approximately? I've never really researched it, but I would like to learn it, especially as more and more books are starting to come up with this topic. And also cuz it looks cool.lol.

A treat for skateboarders!

I've been wanting to skate and I think this book would really help me :D
