Nonfiction of the Week for August 3: The Skateboarding Field Manual
Nonfiction Book for August 3: The Skateboarding Field Manual by Ryan Stutt
I think this is a good manual, but I’m not speaking from experience. The closest I’ve ever come to skateboarding was when I was 4 yrs old I found my cousin’s skateboard and used it to propel myself down his sloping driveway, ending up on the other side of the street.
Fortunately for me there was no oncoming traffic or trees in my path! But if I was interested in skateboarding this seems like the most logical place to start. The book is very good at giving instruction along with some photographs to guide you through some tricks. Even if you don’t own a skateboard but are fascinated by the sport it’s worth your while to check out this book. I know I enjoyed looking at the photos.

The Skateboarding Field Manual sounds like a guide which it is :) although i am not into skateboarding, I've tried it and it seemed really changeling and sometimes on t.v, i see people skate-boarding doing tricks and other stuff and I'm just like how the heck do they do that and i guess it comes for experience. But i am really interested and would like to try and learn a few tricks :). Pat wrote down "Even if you don’t own a skateboard but are fascinated by the sport it’s worth your while to check out this book." But my brother is interested into skateboarding LOL so maybe i can get him this book and see what he says and just maybe he might turn into a pro and i'll read the book after him! Hey just a quick question i asked this earlier but no one responded. So this question is for the staff in Word Out! 2009: Where do i go if i know what the secret book title is ? Thanks Happy Reading :)

Does skateboarding experience help you to snowboard, or does snowboarding experience help to skateboard?? I don't know either of them, but I'd love to learn(both)! Someday, when I'm not to scared..lol. Maybe I'll sign-out this manual for encouragment/information and get over my nerves in the process.

How much does a skateboard cost, approximately? I've never really researched it, but I would like to learn it, especially as more and more books are starting to come up with this topic. And also cuz it looks cool.lol.
