Fiction of the Week for August 24: The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I received this book as a gift from a friend who loves reading YA novels. She knew I liked stories that take place in a post-apocalyptic world and she also knew about my reality show obsession, and of course that is what the Hunger Games is all about.
I couldn’t put this book down, I think I read it in one evening. I can’t wait to read book 2, Catching Fire. For anyone that loves post-apocalyptic themes I recommend The Road it is written by Cormac McCarthy, an amazing book but very disturbing.
Pat is a teen librarian who likes to read fiction from all genres. She also enjoys reading non fiction books and learning about different cultures around the world.
Yeah "post-apocalyptic", thats what I'm talking about.

I love this book! Suzanne Collins is one of those brilliant people who can come up with amazing stories that have the readers riveted from cover to cover (I read it all in one sitting)! This thrilling story has underlying themes of primitive survival and questionable political morality, as well as the one theme that always manages to catch the eyes of teen readers -- wonderfully problematic love.
"The Hunger Games" is a fantastic read! I love Peeta! Although I don't particularly like the main character, Katniss Everdeen... But then again, this is coming from a girl who doesn't like Tally Youngblood from the "Uglies" series, Bella Swan from the "Twilight" series, and a number of other main characters.
I can't wait to read the sequel! I'm desperately trying to get a copy of "Catching Fire".

Hey, this is a great book I've read it like 3 times. I love philosophy, adventure, and romance books but always in this book it seems to mentions boy meets girls many times but thats so true boy does always meet girl in some situations. I love books that accure in/at postapocalyptic stories. And it's so interesting and it is a great book I would recommend it to all of my freinds. And when my sister read it after me she loved it and now we both love reading Suzanne Collins books. cThis is my favorite out of all of her books(42).

This one of my absolutely most favourite book ever (other than Twilight)! I bought it because it looked interesting when it was new and unknown and I absolutely adored it. I try to recommend it to everyone and all of them have agreed it's really great. I'm counting down the days until the release of Catching Fire, which is September 1st. Hope everyone else enjoys it!

I just finished reading the book and I absolutly loved it, so much that I'm going to use it for my book report for school this year. I just want to point out that Suzanne Collins is my hero and I can wait to read the sequel Catching Fire. And I personally think Katniss makes a great main character for this book.LOL:)
