Fiction Book for July 27: The Juvie Three by Gordon Korman
Gecko, Terence, and Arjay, destined to go to jail, are given a second chance by Douglas Healy, a former juvenile delinquent who runs a unique but strict halfway house. Nonfiction Book for July 27: Animation Unleashed by Ellen Besen and Bryce Hallett
Former faculty member of Sheridan College Ellen Besen has been working in the animation field for over 35 years. This book clearly demonstrates the different stages involved in making an animated film, from coming up with the concept to finishing the project. A great instruction guide and reference manual.
Graphic Novel for July 27: Runaways: Dead End Kids by Joss Whedon
Nico, Chase, Karolina, Molly, Victor, and Xavin have all the superpowers of their supervillain parents but none of their wicked ways. Fleeing their parents’ evil legacy, the kids find themselves forging an uneasy alliance with Kingpin, a crime boss, who happens to possess a rather enticing time travel device. Before they know it, the kids are in a Gangs of New York-era turf war.
The new Pendragon book Soldiers of Halla is a great book which concludes the series.

Also the star wars novels are getting pretty good too. I can't believe Leia and Han's son turn to the dark side and got killed by his twin sister. I think the ban of the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman imposed by the Catholic School Board and Library is ridiculous and it restricts the readers' choices. We're in a democracy for god's sake.

If you like reading from a criminal's perspective, Artemis Fowl is the book for you. If you like matters such as religion and science and you like plots and twists, Dan Brown's novels Angels and Demons, the Da Vinci Code and Deception Point are for you. If you like the old fashion Star Wars, then read its new series Fate of the Jedi or start reading from the beginning!

I think Terry Brooks is a fantastic writer. His writing style is able to capture a reader's attention and imagination all the way to the end.I personally recommend his books to anybody who is interested in science fiction, romance, mysteries and loves to read

hey, this is my first time so forgive me if i ramble just a bit! Some of the books that i think everyone, and i mean EVERYONE should read are the Abarat series by Clive Barker. They are so amazing! They are filled with hundreds of paintings done by the author himself and the plot is amazing! This story is about a girl who lives in a boring town, and one days rebels against this lifestyle, leaving Chickentown(that's the place where she lives) and by doing that meets two extrodinary beings that she follows to the magical world of Abarat. However, Candy (the girl) feels like she has already been there, and that is one of the mysteries that will be explained. If one likes magic, horror, revelations, plots and intrigues, READ THIS BOOK!

By the way, there is also another great series out there called "The Secrets of the Immortal Nicolas Flamel" and it is written by Michael Scott. This series is awesome! It's about Nicolas Flamel and his wife Perenelle and they are living in modern day America. They have lived for centuries through the power of the Book of Abraham, a magical book filled with prophecies and spells of immense power. Nicolas and his wife are searching for the twins of legend to defeat the evil forces that exist, by training a girl and a boy in the five elemental magics. However, as their adventures continue, the twins are suspicious of the Alchemyst's (Nicolas) intentions. This book is filled with so many people from all eras and will appeal to anyone of any age.

I also read some books from the Booklist, and I loved them! There is "Wake" by Lisa McMann which is a great read because of how Janie is able to confront her dream-walking powers and how to use it to help people. I can't wait for the sequel, "Fade"! I also read the graphic novels "Zot: The Complete Black and White Collection" and "Emiko Superstar." I have only recently discovered graphic novels and I love them! "Zot" is such a cool book because it talks about adult issues, like what it means to be a hero, and the issues in homophobia, and peer-pressure. I love "Emiko Superstar" as well for the same reasons. She(Emiko) breaks away from the expectations that her family wants, and instead finds her own inspiration through someone. These are gread reads and I hope everyone else tries to read them as well.

I'm also a big fan of certain childrens' series like "The Lost Years of Merlin" and "Avalon." I also like all the books written by Tamora Pierce, like the Lady Alanna series, the Wild Magic series, the Circle of Magic series and more. They are all filled with stories of magic and self-discovery as well as powers beyond mortal capacities. Another series that is absolutely intriguing for any fan of the Egyptians is the Theodosia Throckmorton series by R. L. LaFevers. There are only two books so far, but both are super amazing! They are called "Theodosia Throckmorton and the Serpents of Chaos" as well as "Theodosia Throckmorton and the Staff of Osiris." They are about a girl living in olden days of the British Empire, and she has to struggle to destroy the curses on Egyptian things that only she can feel. She has a sort of sixth sense that can detect curses and she is constantly treated as a child. Her adventures in both Egypt and Britain are amazing and she has to defeat the enemies of Britain by herself. Everyone who loves anything to do with Egyptian history and magic should read this book immediately!

Also the thing about Artemis Fowl written by Mary is SO true. They are a really great series! I hope that Eoin Colfer continues to write more books even though they need not necessarily be about Artemis Fowl.

Oh and more on terry Goodkind. He's really a great author with one the best writing skills i've seen so far. he makes his story and characters come to life. I truly recommend for anyone who likes action, adventure, fantasy with a dash of romance packed into a nice long series then definately give Sword of truth a go. It's worth it. Though i havn't finshed the whole series myself i'm planning on doing it this summer so i hope others would also try out his books.

I can't wait to read all of these books!

Hey, has anyone read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins?
It's set in the future and teens in the society are forced to take part in a survival competition that's broadcast live on TV all over their country. There's lots of suspense and adventure as the teens in the Hunger Game try to survive. And the only way to win is to kill all the other people and be the last one alive.
It's the first book in a trilogy--check it out.

whoah that sounds intense. I usually don't like reading horror story's or even story's that pit people against eachother. But that sounds far to intresting to pass up so i'll defiantely give it a try
