TCAF-posterEarlier this year, some of the Word Out crew crashed TCAF - the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Q&A with The Gathering author Kelley Armstrong

June 19, 2012 | Ken Sparling | Comments (7)

In anticipation of the Word Out Launch next Wednesday, June 27, Kelley Armstrong discloses her favourite monster movie, weighs in on who would win a pie-eating contest between Anne Rice and Stephenie Meyer and asks you to help build her summer reading list!

1. If you could have any supernatural power, what do you think would be the coolest?

I would love to be a werewolf because I think it would be amazing to experience life—temporarily, at least!--in a different form.  The secondary characteristics would be cool, too, but those "extras" also make it hard for werewolves to blend, so if I was being very practical, I'd go with spell-casters.  Their powers take work to learn, but overall they have fewer drawbacks.

2. What’s your favourite monster movie?

There are so many that it’s hard to choose. An American Werewolf in London is high on the list. It was frightening and funny and very different from anything else I’d seen at the time.
