Word Out 2010 has ended and the information on this page may not be up to date for a more current incarnation of Word Out.
Just like last year, we've got prizes!
Weekly Draws
We'll be drawing gift cards every week during the eight official weeks of the program in July and August. The three ways to get into the pool:
- Just join the program. Some of the cards will be drawn weekly out of the whole pool.
- Contribute to the program by commenting on blog posts. We'll draw some cards weekly just for the commenters.
- Make a video book review. We'll draw some cards weekly exclusively for those making videos.
Grand Prizes
At the end of the summer we'll make our grand prize draws.
Everyone
We'll draw an iPod Touch as our grand prize out of the entire pool of those who join. You could also win an iPod Nano or iPod Shuffle just for joining.
Contributors
Contribute comments or make a video book review and you'll be in the pool a Nano or Shuffle just for those who make contributions during the summer.
Video Reviews
One of the video book review makers will win a digital camcorder.
Random Book Prize Opportunities
Like last year, there should be opportunities to win book prizes for tasks of skill like naming your skateboard or picking your DJ name.
Collecting a Prize
- If you've won a prize a member of the Word Out team will contact you by the e-mail address you gave when you joined the club, made a comment or linked your video book review.
- We'll arrange to send the prize to any Toronto Public Library branch for you to pick up (it will take 7-10 days after you let us know your preferred branch to arrive)
- Don't worry if you're going on vacation at some point--we'll hold the prizes until two weeks after the end of the summer.
Disclaimers Etc
- You must be a resident of Toronto or the holder of a Toronto Public Library card.
- You must be between 13-19 years old.
- Prizes unclaimed by September 15th will be used for other purposes and you will no longer be eligible to collect them.
- The amount of commenting or video posting won't influence your chance to win weekly or grand prizes beyond making you eligible--so comment as much or as little as you want, post one video a week or ten, but don't try to inflate your chances!
