Youth Advisory Group Profile: Northern District
We have 19 volunteers in our Youth Advisory Group (YAG) at Northern District, and most of us have joined in the past six months. It was a good way to get to know each other as we debated and negotiated to come up with these excellent recommendations.
Our top book recommendations:
Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything by Aly Raisman.
Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff.
Neanderthal Opens the Door to the Universe by Preston Norton.
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.
Maus: A Survivor’s Tale by Art Speigelman.
Our top music recommendations:
Our top three apps:
- Spotify
- YouTube - watch TPL Teens on YouTube
- Netflix
Our favourite neighbourhood spots:
- Himalayan Java – mmm, hot chocolate
- Formocha – best bubble tea
- Rolltation - yes, sushi burritos
- BMV - book browsing = happiness
Three people we’d invite to our YAG meeting:
- Roald Dahl
- Sean Mendes
- The Obamas (two people, we know)
