The Business, Science & Technology Department of North York Central Library compiles a monthly calendar of free science and applied science events in Toronto. Applied science includes health, gardening, pets and food- all subjects found in the department's collection. Here is the June calendar (PDF, revised June 10).

June's highlights include:

June 1: Garden Pests, Pathogens and Problems Workshop. Join the Etobicoke Master Gardeners (EMG) inside the Centre for Urban Ecology to learn about the pests and pathogens that may show up in local gardens - plus how to deal with them if they show up in yours.

June 3, 10 and 17: Connections Workshop: Keeping You Healthy with Chronic Conditions. The Connections workshop helps people deal with common issues when living with a chronic condition. These issues may include stress, pain, fatigue, difficult emotions, healthy eating, dealing with healthcare providers and more.

June 23: Nature Connection. Art in the Park - Downsview Park. Downsview Park staff will take you on a free outdoor Park program based on nature-themed topics to get you exploring the natural world, starting with Downsview Park! Creativitiy is at the heart of this program. Spend some time appreciating and taking in the beauty that surrounds us in nature. Use a variety of materials found within the park to create some of your own masterpieces.
