The library now offers magazines which you can download and actually keep until you decide to delete them, without ever having to worry about returning them. The new service is called Zinio and it gives you access to the most current issue of  300+ popular magazines including; The Economist, Hello!, Rolling Stone, National Geographic, Macleans, Bloomberg Businessweek etc. which you can read on your tablet (e.g. iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Blackberry Playbook etc.), smartphone, e-reader (e.g. Kobo, Kindle, Nook etc.) or computer, for free of course! Above is a Zinio eMagazines video tutorial you can watch for more detail, there's also a complete user guide for using the library version of Zinio available as a PDF and the Richview library is offering a couple of Zinio training classes, one in July and the other in August. 

It is very easy to use. You begin by creating 2 accounts using the same email address for both (it is recommended to create the accounts on your computer before using the app on your smartphone or tablet):

1. Go to tpl.ca/zinio where you will be prompted to create a new account:
2. An account at zinio.com

Then, to access the magazines from your smartphone or tablet you download the app at zinio.com/apps. To check out new digital magazines you have to do it through tpl.ca/zinio and then the magazine will appear automatically in your app. You can not download them directly through the app because you will be prompted to pay. I have been using Zinio myself now and I really enjoy it, I've downloaded it onto my iPhone, Kobo Vox (e-reader) and sometimes view them on the computer when I'm downloading them. I enjoy it on my Kobo the best the resolution is crystal clear, you can zoom in and out nicely, I have access to so many magazines conveniently in one device, its free, and it is a great way to pass the time commuting. 

We have a wide variety of print magazines available in the Business Department at North York Central Library, however they are all reference so you can only read them in the Library. Now with Zinio you can download some of these magazines and read them anywhere you'd like. Here are the business and finance magazines which are available for download on Zinio:

All of the magazines above including back issues are available in the Business Department at North York Central Library (4th floor) with the exception of Franchise Canada Magazine and Rotman: The Magazine of Rotman School of Management.
