Imagine if we could start fresh and build a brand new city above our current one? ‘Upper Toronto: Envisioning a New City’ asks us to do just that and as citizens think creatively about what is important in creating a liveable city.   Join us at the North York Central Library for an imaginative act of collaborative city planning with the award winning Small Wooden Shoe (mostly) Theatre company.

The premise of the evening is the idea of creating an ‘Upper Toronto.’   This science fiction design proposal imagines building a new city in the sky above Toronto. As the creators describe it "imagine a city resting on the Bay Street towers – or the CN Tower as a walk up restaurant." How do we envision this city? What does this odd idea allow us to imagine in a new city? Importantly it allows us to "ask what would happen if, knowing what we now know, we could start fresh."

For more information about the project visit Small Wooden Shoe’s website and join us on Tuesday October 4th, 2011 at 6:30 in the auditorium.  The evening promises to be filled with innovative ideas, thought-provoking discussion and lively fun!
