Toronto Public Library (TPL) is marking the National Day of Mourning in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as follows:

  • All library branches and locations will observe 96 seconds of silence at 1 p.m.
  • Flags will remain at half mast
  • We will continue to feature a blog post including a brief biography of Queen Elizabeth, reading list and a selection of photos from our digital collections

There will be no other impact to TPL services on September 19.

The Toronto Public Library Board meeting on September 19 will take place as scheduled, and the Board Chair will commemorate the Queen’s passing at that meeting.
