Toronto Public Library has launched a pilot project to buy popular new adult fiction books from the public for $5 at the Toronto Reference Library.

How it works:

  • Your book must be on our list of popular adult fiction titles that are currently in demand
  • The list of books eligible for purchase will be updated on the first day of every month, so check regularly
  • If your book meets our criteria, we'll buy it for $5

Check the list of books we're currently buying.

The library has launched this pilot project to determine the practicality of buying used books from the public. It’s also an opportunity for people to recycle their books and share them with readers across the city. Books will be added to the library’s collection and made available for borrowing.
