Welcome to the Library! Bienvenido a la Biblioteca!

Spanish is one of the most popular languages worldwide. It is most commonly spoken in Central and South America in countries like Mexico, Cuba, and Colombia. Like any language, Spanish has many different dialects depending on the country and region.

Toronto Public Library has over 11,000 materials in our Spanish collection for adults, teens and children. You can find our largest (1,500 or more items) collections at Downsview, Toronto Reference Library and York Woods. We also have branches with small (less than 750 items) and medium-sized (750 - 1,500 items) collections that can be found here.

If you're new to the Library, you can read our guide to library information in Spanish to learn more about the free programs and services you can access with your library card.

Fun fact: Did you know that there are two names for Spanish: Español and Castellano?
