Adult Literacy Services

Borrow Materials

Borrow books, music, movies and more. Toronto Public Library has a large collection of fiction and nonfiction. Are you a fan of mystery, romance, graphic books or science fiction? Do you enjoy reading about history or biographies? Are you studying business and personal finance? Are you interested in cooking or health and wellness? Do you prefer Audiobook CDs, eBooks, eAudiobooks? How about music CDs? Enjoy finding the right materials for you and your family. Toronto Public Library has something special for everyone!

Can't find a book you want at your local branch? Place a hold and reserve materials you need. We will send the requested items to your library branch for pick up.

Don’t have time to visit a library branch? You can download eBooks, digital magazines and newspapers, movies and music online and listen or read on a computer, tablet or mobile device.

Use computer workstations with creation and design software like Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and much more. Find out more about the software we have.

Interested in Borrowing materials, but cannot come to the Library due to age, illness or disability? Home Library Services is here to help! We can help you with monthly delivery up to 20 items free of charge. Tell us about your reading interests and which day of the month your deliveries you would like us to send and enjoy. Call us at 416-395-5557 to verify your eligibility and for more details.

 

Library Settlement Partnerships (LSP) program

The Library Settlement Partnerships (LSP) program and Settlement Workers provide in person one-on-one assistance to help newcomers with their settlement issues. Come to the library to meet with a settlement worker who can help you get started in Toronto and Canada. Find out more details about our program hours and locations.

 

Museum + Arts Pass
