Mango Languages is an online language-learning resource that can help you learn over 70 languages, including English, French, Japanese, German, Greek, Italian, Arabic, Korean and more. You can use Mango for free with your valid Toronto Public Library card on any computer or mobile device with access to Internet.
Mango Languages uses real-life situations, everyday conversations and audio from native speakers to teach a new language. The lessons are easy to follow with clear instructions and a narrator to help you practice vocabulary, grammar, reading and pronunciation. Cultural notes are included in each lesson.
This digital learning resource is very useful for practical verbal skills in another language for any conversation you might want to have. What makes Mango fun is the interactive films. You can watch and learn anytime. There are even ones for kids!
Mango also includes customized ESL courses for speakers of more than 20 languages! There are ESL courses for speakers of Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish (Latin America), Turkish, Vietnamese and more.
There is also an app for Mango Languages that you can use on your mobile devices. Create a Mango profile trough Mango Languages and then download the app through Google Play or iTunes. Use the same name and Toronto Public Library card number that were used to create an account when logging in.
