Are you looking for free things to do with your family?  Harbourfront is a fantastic park and cultural centre on Toronto's lake shore - it has a busy schedule of fun and free activities all year round.  In the winter you can skate on the pond, admire art exhibits, go to music concerts and take part in kids' activities.  This winter you can skate to music by DJs!  Check out Black History events in February.

In the summer there is a series of 14 festivals every weekend - like Hot & Spicy Food, Canada Day, and South Asian.  These festivals include music, dance, food and every Sunday there are free children's activities between 1-3 pm.  You can see the schedule of events by day or week .

You can take classes too - learn to sail a boat, or take a course in the craft studio and learn to blow glass or make pottery (for a fee)).

To get there, take the 509 or 510 streetcar from Union Station (only 3 stops) or the Union streetcar from Spadina station. Visit the TTC website for more info on routes and fares.
