Make Some Noise with Witch Prophet, Theology 3, TOI and a Beatboxing Workshop
Make Some Noise returns to library branches this fall with two exciting concerts and a beatboxing workshop!
Witch Prophet will be performing at the historic Yorkville Branch on Saturday, November 17th. Witch Prophet is a queer, Ethiopian/Eritrean, singer/songwriter, the Co-Founder and Director of Toronto based collective/ label 88 Days Of Fortune, and member of feminist based electro dub hop group Above Top Secret. Her album The Golden Octave was released earlier this year - a soundscape of vocal layers, loops and harmonies on a bed of hip hop, jazz and soul inspired beats.
The Agincourt Branch will have performances by rapper Theology 3 and R&B singer TOI on Saturday, November 10th. Toronto emcee Theology 3 has carved a path firmly rooted in the art of hip-hop music. A potent mix of punchlines and socio-political commentary resonates deeply with fans and peers alike on his new album, Streamingtons.
Born and raised in Toronto, TOI (Truth Over Illusion) is an emerging artist producting eclectic R&B music. Drawing on Trinidadian and Jamaican roots, she was exposed to gospel, soca, reggae, calypso and house music, all of which contribute to her unique fusion sound.
There will also be a beatboxing workshop put on by UNITY Charity before Theology 3 and TOI perform. Whether you're looking to learn for fun or have dreams of competing, this workshop will have you have making beats in no time.
All events are ticketed and go on sale on September 24th at 9am.
