There are more concept-based adventures with these little green peas as they teach readers about numbers (1-2-3 Peas), colours (Little Green Peas: A Big Book of Colors), and the months of the year (Hap-pea All Year).

These veggies get festive in the book Vegetables in Holiday Underwear and the author/illustrator even celebrates fruit in the companion book Fruits in Suits. (Though surprisingly I couldn't find any information about an Eat Your Fruit Day.)

Of course you can always celebrate Eat Your Vegetables Day by learning about legumes in one of our many non-fiction books about vegetables.

Let us know in the comments which variety of vegetables are your favourite! Will you be feasting on some fiddleheads, chewing cauliflower, or devouring daikon on June 17?

Oh and don't forget...every day is a good day to eat (or read) your vegetables! ;)
