Panels, Potties and Pixies - Great Reads Booklists for Kids
If you know a kid who loves to read graphic novels, funny books or tales of dragons and magic, then they'll love these three, new, fold-out booklists, designed just for them!
To complement the Great Reads for Kids Family Resource, these lists feature recent titles for kids ages 6 - 12 recommended by Toronto Public Library's children's staff, including Graphic Reads, Funny Reads and Fantasy Reads. There's even space for kids to list their personal great reads to share with their friends, family and library staff. The Fantasy Reads booklist is arriving in branches later this week, and you can pick up a free copy of each at any branch while supplies last.
We may be adding further editions, so let us know what kind of books your child would like to read more of... maybe adventure? Historical Fiction? Sports? Science Fiction?
In the meantime, here are a few of my favourite titles from each of the lists that are sure to be hits in your household:
Graphic Reads
Awesome graphic novels, manga, and non-fiction!
Fun and funny books that will have you laughing out loud!
Mythical beasts, special powers, and magic awaits!
Thanks to our partner, Kumon Math and Reading Centres, for making this initiative possible.
And if you're looking for more book recommendations for school-aged kids, don't forget to check out some of the other posts on this blog or KidsSpace!
