Film director Bruce McDonald, author Gil Adamson help launch David Young's Playwright in Residence Program

Welcome to the Toronto Reference Library’s Writer-in-Residence Blog. This fall, watch this space for submissions by our Playwright-in-Residence, David Young.

DavidYoung David’s two-month residency begins Tuesday, October 4 and he’s hitting the ground running with the first of three outstanding public programs. We hope to see you there!

Every oak tree starts out as an acorn. David Young talks about the way writers collect and use their raw materials, followed by an open discussion - bring those acorns!

GilAdamsonGil Adamson is a Toronto author and poet whose fBruceMcDonaldirst novel, The Outlander, has been optioned for the screen. 

Bruce McDonald is a Canadian film and television director with a long list of credits to his name including Hard Core Logo  and Highway 61.



David Young is an award winning Toronto-based writer and educator. He is the author of seven plays, two novels and a long list of film, radio and television credits. David’s plays have been produced at The Stratford Festival, Tarragon Theatre, The National Arts Centre, Neptune Theatre, have toured across Canada and been staged internationally.
