Agents_of_shield_bannerAs I'm sure almost every fan boy or girl knows by now, the new TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is due to premiere on Sept 24.

It is a spin-off related to last summer's blockbusters The Avengers movie set in the Marvel Movie Universe and revolving around the character of Phil Coulson.

The premise? Agent Coulson puts together a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to handle strange new cases of newly emerging superhuman individuals.

Feeling a need to brush up on your Marvel movies? Lucky for you Cedarbrae Branch is hosting a Marvel Movie Marathon.

Thurs Sept 12, 5:30pm - Thor

Fri Sept 13, 5:30pm - Iron Man

Sat Sept 14, 1:30pm - The Avengers

If September is too far off, here is some reading to keep you busy while you wait:

At Home Alone Workshop

August 15, 2013 | Yvonne | Comments (2)

The first time I stayed home alone as a child was a rewarding as well as scary experience. I remember feeling like I was real big girl because my parents were trusting me to be home alone. Even so, I was nervous and a wee bit scared. In retrospect, I'm sure my parents felt the same way leaving me alone at home.

Staying home alone for the firHouse-clipart-3st time is a significant milestone for kids - as well as parents. The At Home Alone workshop at Cedarbrae library will help you prepare for this.

At Home Alone - 5 steps to Independence is a fun family workshop to help families prepare their child(ren) (ages 10-14 years old) to be home alone safely.
