2021 Scotiabank Giller Prize Longlist Announced
The longlist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize was announced on September 8, 2021. The Giller, as it's commonly known, is the most lucrative literary award in Canada. The author of the winning receives $100,000 and each of the finalists take home $10,000. Novels, short story collections and graphic novels by a Canadian author published in English are eligible for the award.

A Dream of a Woman by Casey Plett
Em by Kim Thúy
Fight Night by Miriam Toews
Glorious Frazzled Beings by Angélique Lalonde
The Listeners by Jordan Tannahill
The Octopus has Three Hearts by Rachel Rose
Strangers by Katherena Vermette
Swimming Back to Trout River by Linda Rui Feng
Son of the House by Cheluchi Onyemelukwe-Onuobia
We, Jane by Aimee Wall
What Strange Paradise by Omar El Akkad
The shortlist will be announced on October 5 and the winner will be revealed on November 8. The ceremony will be broadcast on the CBC at 9 PM ET.
