2020 Booker Prize Longlist Revealed
The Booker Prize Longlist was announced on Monday, July 27. Three veteran writers have been nominated: Hilary Mantel, Colum McCann and Anne Tyler. The list also features eight debut novels by Diane Cook, Avni Doshi, Gabriel Krauze, Kiley Reid, Douglas Stuart, Brandon Taylor, Sophie Ward and C. Pam Zhang.
Two authors have been nominated for the third book of a trilogy. Tsitsi Dangarembga's This Mournable Body completes her Tambudzai Trilogy about a family in pre-independence Zimbabwe.
Hilary Mantel has been nominated for the third book in her Thomas Cromwell trilogy, The Mirror and the Light. The first two books Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies both won the award. If The Mirror and the Light also wins, it will be the first time that each book in a trilogy received the prize and the first time an author has won the Booker Prize three times.
