Cas Lowood is a young man with a truly unusual profession, he is a ghost hunter who kills the dead who are harmful to the living. This career is part of his lineage and a job that he has no choice but to engage in. His father was recently murdered by a ghost he was trying to kill. Cas moves all over the world with his mother (a white witch of sorts) and he is supported by an entire team of crypto zoologists (mainly via the internet) that assist him. When he arrives in Thunder Bay he assumes that the local legends of "Anna" are just really elaborate myths until he meets her himself. Anna was murdered in 1958 and anyone who enters her house never comes out.
