The Miniature Book Society holds an annual competition inviting book artists from around the world to submit their work to a panel of judges.  Color photographs of each book are published online in the Miniature Book Society's Competition Exhibition Catalogs. Winners and contenders for the 2010 Distinguished Book Awards are now posted on the MBS website.

Here are some previous award-winners that you'll find here in Special Collections on the 4th floor of the Toronto Reference Library:

Good Against the Nightmare is a miniature alphabet book, created by Tara Bryan at her Walking Bird Press, in Newfoundland.  The book was produced on a letterpress with various typefaces and 14 different colours.  Each letter is illustrated by a word with a positive and a negative meaning.

Until the end of February, you can still view an exhibit of "little books" on the 4th floor of the Toronto Reference Library.   In Miniature,  showcases some of the miniature books in the Library's Fine Printing and Private Press Collection.
