Teen Review: The Lightening Thief
Review by Alexandra
Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief is the first book in the Percy Jackson & The Olympians award-winning, fantasy series by Rick Riordan. Twelve-year-old Percy discovers he is a demigod, as his mother is a mortal human and his birth father is Poseidon, immortal god of water. Evil monsters are enemies of the gods and goddesses who live in Olympus, where they cannot be reached. So instead, the monsters hunt the gods' and goddesses’ children.
Percy is sent to Camp Half-Blood by Grover, a satyr who is tasked with discovering and recruiting demigods who are living in the mortal world. At camp, Percy meets many other demigods who live and train to fight monsters. He lucks out and is offered a quest with his two new friends, Annabeth Chase, another demigod, daughter of Athena, and Grover. But who is the Lightning Thief? Read the book to find out!
I rate this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, because it combines fantasy, knowledge about gods and goddesses in an intense and imaginative matter.
