Culture Days--Creating Beauty in Recycled Objects
|Bottle Bubbles, a Recycling Workshop At the Highland Creek Branch artist Ilona Staples will show how to make a small "Bubble" out of 12 pieces of cut-up 2-litre plastic pop bottles transferring waste into very striking and beautiful art. This is a great activity for kids and groups of kids, and adults too. Class visits are welcome. Friday, September 30, 1-3 pm.||
|Rescue Fabric! Make an Ornament! Ginny Kaner of Butterfly Tree shows participants how to make a brooch, barrette, or ornament using repurposed fabric scraps. There will be prototypes and participants are encouraged to try their own ideas and designs as well. College Shaw Branch Saturday, October 1, 1:30-4:30.|
Artmaking and Bookmaking With Recycled Material Artist Micheline Montgomery demonstrates green conscious art making and book making using preloved material. Hands-on workshop with material provided. The only prerequisite is imagination. For adults and children. Mount Pleasant Program Room, Saturday, October 1, 1:30-3:30 pm.
