Are you planning a wedding, a renovation, or do you like to save photos of beautiful travel destinations? Instead of clipping with scissors or saving files to your computer, try Pinterest .
The purpose of Pinterest is to create online bulletin boards. You can use the online boards to collect images of things you find online, or post your own images. You can share them with friends and family as well as with other Pinterest members who share your interests. It can be used for wedding planning, renovations and decorating, fashion, cooking, crafts, travel - for just about anything that involves images.
At the moment, signing up with Pinterest is by invitation only. You can request an invitation from Pinterest or you can be invited by someone who is already a part of the Pinterest community. When the invitation arrives, go ahead and create your account.
Once the account is set up, you can use the pin boards that come standard with your account or create your own.
To add a new image to a pin board, you will need to create a 'pin'. A pin can be added from a website by using the website's address or by clicking on the Pin It button next to the item (if the website has made it available). Pinterest also has a Pin It button your can install on your browser's bookmarks bar. Each pin links back to the website it came from.
In addition to finding beautiful things on the web yourself, you will also be able to see the pins and pinboards created by other people. This will help you to discover new things and get inspired. You can 'Like' Pins created by other people or add the item to your own boards.
