Three-time Stephen Leacock Medal winner, Will Ferguson can now add the Scotiabank Giller Prize to his list of acolades. Previously known for writing humour and travel, Ferguson moved into literary fiction with 419, a novel about a Nigerian email scam and a woman searching for those responsible for her father's death.
The award was presented on October 30 at a star-studded gala at Toronto's Ritz Carleton Hotel. The prize honours the best English-language fiction book from the previous year. As winner, Ferguson receives $50,000; the remaining finalists each take home $5000.
